Mr. Men for 5

Hello Everyone! I noticed some questions about UK voicing.

I'm just back from a week of casting and recording the UK version of the Mr. Men Show and have much news to report.

We're working with a kick-ass studio in London called Sound Company. They've worked with the likes of Aardman (tv and features) and have done a ton of stuff for the BBC and 5. They truly get what we're trying to do with this adaptation and bring to the work a real love and admiration of Roger's books.

We've finished casting the show (almost!) with an amazingly talented ensemble of British voice actors and are in the process of trying to nail down a celebrity to take on the role of Narrator. We'll keep you posted on that front and will be back shortly with photos, musings and MP-3's from last week's recording session.

We've just now begun the process of translating all 52 scripts with a sensational British writer called Kate Canning who is vetting every last line of dialog and narration so we get it right on a granular level. It will be these newly translated scripts that are then recorded by Sound Company.

I think/hope/pray that most of you will dig how the UK version is turning out. We made a creative commitment early on to faithfully translate the books and characters but to also re-imagine aspects of the work for a new audience and a new medium. It's that great cover song. You want to stay true to the original but says something new.

I know not everyone will ultimately  be happy with the outcome but that's cool. Your investment in the project and your willingness to engage on this level is absolutely thrilling and enormously beneficial to what's being made and to what (fingers crossed) we can do in a second season in the way of creative modifications and additional characters.

Thanks for all of the posting and look forward to hearing frrom you!
